I
was very surprised that Nintendo wasn’t the most successful group among'st the video
game console company. Growing up with a Wii and Game boy I assumed that Nintendo
was bound to be at the top of the video game chain. I didn’t realize how
successful Sony and Microsoft were until I reached my teenage years and
actually purchased an Xbox 360 myself. This is when I started to see why
Nintendo was a distant 3rd on the list between the two powerhouse companies
of Microsoft and Sony. It appears that Nintendo gaming systems appeal more to
younger audiences and Sony and Microsoft gaming systems appeal more to teenage
and up audiences.
Nintendo took a very large risk when they introduced the Wii U because it was simply a repeat of the regular Wii just with different controls. Unlike Microsoft and Sony who when upgrading their systems created new perks to their systems.
5 words that connected with the Nintendo case study are sponsorship, synergy, revenue, promotion and ancillary product. Sponsorship is the promotion of a company in association with a property. Synergy is a combined action that occurs when products owned by one source promote the growth of related products. Revenue is the total gross income. Promotion is any form of communication to persuade people to buy a product. And an ancillary product is a product related to or created from the core product. These 5 terms all connect to the Nintendo case study. The new wiiU would be an ancillary product, Nintendo promotes the wii and wii u all over the U.S. Nintendo's total revenue is far behind both Sony and Microsoft.
I would like to research under Armour as a class because I know that they weren't very popular about a decade ago but after they brought out all this new dri-fit athletic gear, they have started to take over the sports clothing industry. It had always been Nike for years but in the last 3-4 years under Armour has made a surge in their earnings especially for winter gear. I myself have invested in much more Under Armour than Nike the past few years because it is much cheaper and just as good I think.

The Speed Watch Cross
My
Business Marketing mix would be called the Speed Watch Cross. The speed watch
cross takes all the features that a fit bit has and it adds in a feature where
you can track your speed as you run or jog. It also has a much bigger screen
than the fit bit flex for better visuals. The fit bit company will most likely be
our biggest competitor.
While the fit bit is priced at $99.95, the Speed Watch cross
will be priced at 109.99 due to the added features that create a better watch
for fitness.
The fit bit is available at target, amazon, fit bit website,
best buy, and the apple store. The Speed Watch cross will be available at
target, best buy, sports authority, the cross watch website, and amazon.
The Speed Watch Cross is going to revolutionize the sports
watches that we have today. It has everything you need while taking a jog or
going for a walk, your heart rate, pulse, speed, and so many other cool
gadgets.
Now people of all ages don’t need to get angry when there
sports watch doesn’t read right or breaks down because the Speed Watch Cross is
sold at a great price and is very reliable.

Boston: Poor Olympics site
I am not too surprised that Boston was turned down for the
most Olympics. There are so many factors that have to be considered, the
parking, air pollution, space for the arena, and several other things. Where
would Boston have the actual events, there is not even close to enough space to
hold the events and where would everybody stay. They could use the college
dorms but still there might not be enough space to hold the athletes. The air
quality is another factor that would lead to the rejection of Boston as the
host of the upcoming Olympics. The air quality may be better than china but it
still isn’t the best for the athletes and fans. Also another factor is the
parking. Where would the supporting fans park? Boston is already a highly
populated city and this would only add to the traffic and commotion. I am not
surprised that Boston was turned down as a possible place for hosting the
Olympics in the upcoming years.
